Summary Statement of Our Beliefs:
BIBLE
We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible and inerrant Word of God; the supreme and final authority of what to believe and how to live.
GOD
We believe God exists eternally in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. These three are one God. God is the Creator and Sustainer of everyone and everything.
JESUS CHRIST
Jesus Christ is both God and man. He lived a sinless life, died on a cross to save sinners, rose again and ascended into heaven where he is seated at the right hand of the Father. One day He will return in power and glory to complete the establishment of His kingdom on earth, after which, God will resurrect the dead for the final judgement of every person.
HOLY SPIRIT
The Holy Spirit is equally God and is sent by the Father and Son to convict the world of sin, work in the lives of believers to make them more like Christ and equip each follower of Jesus with spiritual gifts.
HUMANITY
We believe God loves all people and made the human race in His image to enjoy perfect fellowship with Him. Because of mankind’s sin, the relationship with God has been severed. All people have been corrupted by sin and are unable to enjoy a right relationship with God, apart from God’s grace.
SALVATION
We believe God’s grace is displayed in Jesus Christ, who shed his blood on the cross as the payment for mankind’s sin. There is no way, however sincere, to be saved other than through Jesus Christ. Those who repent and place their faith in Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection are reconciled to God and imparted with new life. We believe that salvation is by grace through faith alone, and that faith without works is dead.
THE CHURCH
We believe the Church is composed of all those who, through faith, have received Jesus Christ. The purpose of the church is to worship God, edify believers and proclaim the gospel—God’s message of salvation—to the world and has been granted two practices, baptism and the Lord’s Supper to celebrate and proclaim God’s Work.
Additional Information:
We teach, preach and pastor in accordance with our full statement of faith in the Articles of Faith & Biblical Principles for Living of the Bible Fellowship Church.
In order to bring clarity to contemporary issues of our day, our elder board also affirms the Nashville Statement, the Danvers Statement, the Frankfurt Declaration, and the Cambridge Declaration.
We also make use of historic creeds and confessions in our teaching and worship while submitting everything to the authoritative Word of God. Some of our favorites include the New Hampshire Confession, 1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith, The Heidelberg Catechism as well as the Nicene Creed and the Apostles Creed.
